Common Ground Country Fair

Women with Wings is a mostly acapella singing circle, often with drumming accompaniment. The group is fluid in nature, oscillating between 20-30 women who appear each Thursday to sing in the group. They sing simple songs and chants from the heart in an informal and comfortable setting, using tenets of the living oral tradition - no sheet music - just "going with the flow"! Here is their mission statement: "Women With Wings seeks the spiritual empowerment of women. It is our goal to create safe, sacred space for exploring women's spirituality through music. Through song we intend to enhance consciousness of Mother Earth, express love for the environment and celebrate traditions from many cultures. As we find the power behind our voices, we then blend that power to create an even greater voice."
